From Birmingham to Wolverhampton

So you and your girlfriends are looking for a night out after a tiring week of work. You fully deserve one. You’ve worked hard enough to do so. A fun filled route for all my gal pals living in the UK is a trip from Birmingham to Wolverhampton

The travel distance from Birmingham to Wolverhampton is 27 Km. It takes about 23 minutes cover this distance. But trust me when I say this, it takes more than an entire night to do so if done properly. If you do decide to travel along this route, then you must enjoy the following attractions.


There are world famous night clubs here- GodsKitchen, Miss Moneypenny’s and the Gatecrasher. All the big DJs hit these clubs every weekend. If you want a more luxurious experience, then you must try the Mechu. This is a private VIP club lounge and a champagne bar, all providing a very luxurious atmosphere.

Visit the award winning Island Bar, which offers top quality drinks and proper rock music.

For good food and a lively bar experience, you must visit the Rectory Bar and restaurant. You can enjoy quality food and a lively bar.

Theatre at Birmingham is very famous. If you are theatre lover you must visit the Birmingham Hippodrome, Birmingham Repertory Theatre and the Blue Orange Theatre. These theatres play the best of plays and attract many people.

The city offers great music with a great range of venues, local talent and a passionate audience. You must visit the Symphony hall, National Indoor Arena, LG Arena, Bramall Music Building, Welsh National Opera to name a few.

Sutton Coldfield

Located in the north of the city, Sutton Coldfield has many restaurants and lively bars. It is easily accessible from the Birmingham city centre along the Birmingham New Road.

The town centre offers many easily accessible pubs, clubs, cafes and restaurants.

One of the best pubs in this place is the Cock Inn. It is a good pub with great interiors to relax and have fun. It is, however, always busy during the weekends, so prior booking will help.

Another great pub is the Ha Ha pub. It has a wonderful view and offers great cocktails, this is a great place to spend the night with your girlfriends chatting and enjoying drinks.

If you want to have some fun with karaoke, then you must visit the Karaoke Kings, Dance the night away, The Gate Inn etc.

For dancing all night long you must visit the Temple bar, which has attractive booths, lavish furnishings and good drinks. Visit the Moo Moo, an incredibly popular bar cum dance club, especially among the younger crowd.


Solihull is a premier shopping centre. It offers a good night out too with plenty of restaurants, nightclubs, bars etc.

The pubs Sharmans Cross, ColeBrook Inn, The Farm, have a friendly and warm atmosphere. The food and the drinks are great here and are affordable too.

Solihull is also a good place for dance clubs too. Some of the best ones you must try out are the Luna, the House, Garry Owen club etc. These dance clubs offer a great mix of commercial and chart music.

Solihull also has some great pool halls where you can enjoy a game of pool with your girlfriends. Some of the best ones are Cues Snooker Club, Frames Four Snooker Club.


For cultural visits, the Lighthouse is a must. It is an arts centre that is independently run and showing films and hosts exhibitions and conferences.

You can also visit the Grand Theatre, which was built in 1894, that hosts many stage shows.

You can get drinks at the local pubs and bars. The Giffard Arms is one of the best pubs here. The Jivan’s Balti House is another good pub known for its food and drinks.

For dance clubs, you must visit Oceana, Walkabout and Absolute Digital.

Before you start road tripping away for a grand old time, make sure you are street legal and don’t get in trouble with the law. In order to do so, you need to have a UK driving licence, for which you have to pass a driving test in the UK within previous two years. If you have applied for your first provisional licence, you cannot start driving until you receive it, which will take at least 3 weeks.
